The Community house aims to bring people and community organisations together by providing a hub that supports wellbeing. We do this by promoting nourishment, connections and safety.

Motueka Community House has been the go-to hub since 1991 for people seeking help with wellbeing and social issues they face, and the home of many community organisations offering such services.

As financial and health issues become more prevalent these days, the Community House is being seen increasingly as an inclusive and empathetic hub for those seeking help and working for a safer, more caring community.

The Motueka Community House is a charitable trust which employs a small reception/management team and relies on a number of volunteers to contribute to daily services and special projects. Learn more >

“We offer a safe, inclusive space for people to reach out and connect with the supports needed. Our doors are open to anyone in need of guidance, information, or simply someone to talk to. Through our welcoming drop-in service, we offer a cuppa, a chat, and a compassionate listening ear.

“We build trust and provide support to help people navigate challenges and take positive steps in their lives. In addition, we run a range of free community connection initiatives, operate a 24/7 accessible grocery share shelf, and offer emergency food support for those facing hardship.”
